Black Revolutionary Theatre Workshop presents FRUIT

BRTW brings FRUIT to Brooklyn! After stops at colleges in the Tristate area, Black Revolutionary Theatre Workshop brings their new piece, FRUIT, to The Commons. An unflinching new look into rape culture, gender, sexuality, and consent in the Black community, FRUIT features a series of vignettes inspired by real people, events, and controversies.

The hesitant rediscovery of one’s body. The power-hungry dominance that looms over a neighborhood. Therapy. Addiction. And a walk of shame the distance of one side of the world to the other, FRUIT takes an unapologetic look at the makings (and survival within) rape culture. With surprisingly gentle moments and satirical hilarity, FRUIT delivers a powerfully human punch.
