How to Find Artist Opportunities
Black artists can find a number of available opportunities via our programs. Black writers can join Writers Block for free writing workshops and project development on second and fourth Tuesdays every month. You’re also welcome to submit short works for consideration for Melanated Mondays. Writers whose work is included during Melanated Mondays will receive $40. Writers are also welcome to apply to Revolution NOW and The Grapevine Project when those programs are accepting applications. Sign ups and applications are available on each of those program pages. Actors can send their headshots, resumés, and a reel (or monologue or scene) at any time.
If you’re having difficulty donating, please click here and donate directly via our Fractured Atlas page.
If you’re interested in bringing a BRTW production, event, or workshop to your organization and have never commissioned us before, please email us admin [@] thebrtw [DOT] org. Please give at least 6 weeks notice before scheduling your booking.
Contact Us
Due to the significant shift in online culture and the rise in online abuse, we have removed our email form.
If you’d like to contact BRTW, please keep in mind that we are a small organization with limited capacity and may not be able to get back to you quickly. We are not currently accepting direct submissions from writers for original production and such inquiries will likely not receive a response.
Writers may work with us through Writers Block or Revolution NOW!
Universities, theatres, production houses, and other organizations that would like to commission BRTW are welcome to send an inquiry to admin [@] thebrtw [DOT] org.
SUPPORT BRTW TODAY
BRTW exists to disrupt any and all oppressive systems that marginalize Black people using narrative and performance as a methodology to recenter Black people and experiences. With economic, social, educational, healthcare, housing, and political injustice facing our community, BRTW aims to tackle the issues that impact us while becoming a beacon for Black opportunity within the arts.
